The TTD Specified Authority (SA) which held the meeting at Tirumala Annamaiah Bhavan on Thursday under the chairmanship of Sri.J.Satyanarayana and its members, TTD Executive Officer Sri IYR Krishna Rao and Sri Nagi Reddy discussed upon nearly 90 agenda items and came out with some important decisions. Addressing the media persons the chairman of SA briefed some major decisions. The decisions are as follows. Modernisation of Govardhan Chowltry consisting of about 180 rooms in Tirumala at a cost of Rs.2.63crores within a period of three to six months. Renovation and repair works of Balaji Nagar residential area comprising of 1060 houses at a cost of Rs.20cr and make them eligible for living. The SA has accepted the suggestions made by Justice Wadhwa Committee which has submitted a report in the month of December. The SA has decided to systemize the security apparatus for the jewels and also decided to streamline the inventory system. The SA has decided to enhance the piece rate for barbers in Kalyana Katta from Rs.5 to Rs.7. It has also been decided to renew the license for the shops and hawkers in Tirumala, once in every five years. In a major move the SA has decided to allot 25 tickets each of Sahasra Kalasabhishekam and Tiruppavada sevas in current booking for the sake of the pilgrims. The SA announced that the Sri Seva project contemplated by TTD with an aim to provide better, speedy amenities to pilgrims by bringing the accommodation, darshan, transport, tonsure, free food etc. all under one ticket and also to improve transparency and efficiency in administrative set up is almost done as the Ernest and Young Company has submitted a 1000-page document to the SA. The Chairman said, TTD will go for tenders soon. He also said that data centres will be established at Tirumala, Tirupati and Hyderabad. (This will help even during the emergency times in disaster recovery). He said the capital expenditure of the project will be about 30-35 cr while the maintenance expenditure per annum will be between 12-15cr. In yet another major decision the SA has decided to launch a Tamil Channel of SVBC soon.
