The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), as
a token gift to newly wed couples, has introduced current booking of
Kalyanotsavam tickets, which will be henceforth issued to them from April 30
onwards, on a first come first serve basis, said TTD executive officer, Mr
I.Y.R. Krishna Rao.
Addressing media persons at Tirumala on
Friday after reviewing with TTD officials, he said that the TTD had mulled this
idea to provide an opportunity to newly wed couples wed in less than a week, to
have the blessings of Lord Venkateswara.
He said that a quota of 20 Kalyanotsavam
tickets have been allotted to newly weds and the tickets will be issued on a
first come first serve basis alone.
“Of 100 kalyanotsavam tickets issued under current
booking, 20 will henceforth be allotted to newly wed couples. If the number of
couples who have booked tickets does not exceed the quota on any particular
day, then the remaining tickets will be issued under general quota to other
pilgrims,” the EO added
