As a mark
of respect to the great saint poetess Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba who
dedicated her life in the service of Lord Venkateswara, TTD will soon construct
a Dhyana Mandir at Vengamamba Brindavan in Tirumala as a tribute to her
commendable services said TTD EO Sri LV Subramanyam.
After
paying floral tributes to Tarigonda Vengamamba at her Brindavan in Tirumala on
the occasion of 194th Death Anniversary of the saint poetess on Sunday, EO told
media persons, Vengamamba not only blessed her life in the service of Lord but
also served the mankind by commencing Mass Free Annadanam at Tirumala and
became "Divine Mother", he added.
"So we
have named our New Annadanam Complex after her as she pioneered the cause of
free annadanam to visiting pilgrims to Tirumala", the EO maintained.
"TTD has also taken over the Nrisimha Swamy temple at Tarigonda village,
the native place of Saint Poetess in Chittoor district and developed the temple
also. Apart from this we have also constructed a Kalyana Mandapam in Tarigonda
and organising spiritual programmes. It is a welcoming aspect to see that the
popularity of the great saint poetess has been slowly spreading among the
devotees also", the EO said.
Later the
EO released a book "Nitya Stotravali", a compilation of devotional
songs from all the literary works of Vengamamba penned by Tarigonda Vengamamba
